Join SCCA
SCCA's supports both Pro and Club racing. Our North Carolina Region focuses on Club racing. Club racing is amateur motorsports. There are two categories: Regional and National. Competition is fierce at both levels.
The national drivers meet in September each year to compete at SCCA's Valvoline Runoffs®. Most classes except IT (Improved Touring) and a few other region specific classes are eligible for this big event. The regional drivers compete for points throughout the year and end each season with a big end-of-season invitational race to determine the region's class champions.
Since 1996 Road Atlanta has hosted the American Road Race of Champions (ARRC) which is designed to attract all non-national classes to compete after their own regional winners have been decided. This is a very exciting event which usually adds a night enduro to the excitement.
SCCA's Club Racing host 235 Regional events, along with approximately 50 Driving Schools and another 65 National races. SCCA has 50,000+ members with more than 49 percent involved on the amateur level, either as drivers, crew, workers or officials. More than 8,000 SCCA members hold National and Regional competition licenses allowing them to compete.
Membership with us is actually membership with the Sports Car Club of America. Because you want to participate mainly in North Carolina Region Events, you are a North Carolina Region member of the SCCA. This National membership allows you to travel to other Regions to participate.
You don't have to become a member to participate in the Road Rally or Solo/Autocross programs. However, it's a good idea, because at a Solo/Autocross event, for example, you save $10 on the entry fee. If you attend all of our events, the membership pays for itself!
So...how much is it? $85 gets you a full year membership, which includes the following:
