  • NCR SCCA SOLO - CFACS Points Event #3

    Come and join us as the 2012 Cape Fear Autocross Championship Series returns to MCAS Cherry Point in Havelock, NC! The Foxtrot Taxiway is one of the premier SOLO event sites in North Carolina and the NCR-SCCA Back to Fortrot Auto-X will be the second of four events planned for 2012.

    This event will be held on Sunday, May 20th and will be preceded by a Military Only Novice School and Test and Tune on Saturday, May 19th.

  • RE Report - February 2012

    RALEIGH, NC – (NCRSCCA) - Our season of racing was remarkable, considering the state of the economy. While revenues have been down, our specialty chiefs and other participants have cut costs, so we finished the season with a very small loss. This is great considering we processed a large amount of money through our club in that period of time.

    Going into the 13 Hour race, we were low on entries. Our board reacted by removing obstacles some might have encountered trying to enter late. This and other moves helped get more entries into that race, and we wound up having a good number of entries, and having a good race. This helped our bottom line for the season.

  • NCR SCCA SOLO - CFACS Points Event #1

    This event will be held on Sunday, March 18th and will be proceded by a Military Only Novice School and Test and Tune on Saturday, March 17th.

  • NCR SCCA SOLO - Pre-Season Thunder Test-n-Tune

    Sunday, February 26, 2012 - 10:00am - 4:00pm

    This is a one day test-and-tune event being held under the 2012 SCCA SOLO Rules in Downtown Wilmington. The event will be held at Cape Fear Community College's Student Parking Lot #2. This event will not count toward 2012 Cape Fear Autocross Championship Points.

    This event will be limited to 60 entrants to ensure that everyone will get plenty of time on course.

    Stay tuned to this page as the schedule will be posted later this week.

    Drivers must be at least 16 years of age and hold a valid drivers license.
    Drivers under 18 years of age must fill out a minor waiver.

  • Cape Fear Chapter Report - February 2012

    WILMINGTON, NC – (NCRSCCA) - The Cape Fear Chapter converged on a new meeting spot, Elizabeth’s Pizza, on February 7th to enjoy great drinks, Italian cuisine, and camaraderie.  Twenty enthusiastic members were in attendance, anxious to catch up on the off-season’s news and get started on 2012.  The elephant in the room was the missing NCR Solo Schedule so we jumped right into that discussion.  The skinny of it is the BlackWater solo pad, the site we visited six times last year, is unavailable for public rental this year.  We were planning to broaden our horizons to new sites for 2012, but the BlackWater news sped up the process.  Five potential new sites were already on the table before the meeting.  Thanks to some member input that list quickly grew to nine.  A few of those look to be likely hosts to a 2012 Solo event.  Despite the slow start it’s shaping up to be an exciting season of NCR Autocross.
